Chinese Young Actors Class
Learn Chinese, perform short plays, make videos, and preserve childhood memories.
Chinese Young Actors Class
Chinese idioms are sparkling jewels of Chinese language and culture. Brief and refined, each one contains a vivid story and a piece of life wisdom. Chinese fairy tales are equally rich in meaning, lively and engaging, and deeply loved by children.
The “Chinese Young Actors Class” series is built on idioms and fairy tales. It is a distinctive Chinese program developed by Galaxy Star Education Center for elementary and middle school students.
The program moves beyond a single traditional model centered on character recognition, reading, writing, and workbook exercises. It brings together learning characters, reading texts, telling stories, acting in short plays, and filming videos—bringing Chinese out of the textbook, bringing stories to life in the classroom, and making every child the main character.
1. Our Classroom
Children are naturally active. They love stories and games—and they especially love to express themselves and perform. “Chinese Young Actors Class” builds on these qualities, transforming Chinese learning into an engaging story experience and stage practice.
Today, a child may be the farmer in “Waiting by a Stump for a Rabbit.”
Tomorrow, another may be the artist in “Adding Feet to a Snake.”
The day after, someone may become the clever secretary in “The Monkey King Eats a Watermelon.”
Children no longer sit in the classroom only listening to the teacher explain Chinese—they step into the story themselves. Through repeated rehearsal and performance, they gradually fall in love with Chinese and learn it well.
2. Course Design
One idiom becomes one complete Chinese lessonEach idiom story serves as a complete unit of learning:
Students first learn the characters, vocabulary, and text connected to the story, followed by reading aloud and explanation. After understanding the story, they receive roles, learn lines, rehearse, and ultimately complete a short-play performance and video recording.
Chinese learning moves beyond “How many characters do I recognize?” and becomes: I can read. I can speak. I can tell. I can perform.
3. Discover Every Child
We believe every child has a unique gift.
Some children love reading aloud; some excel at storytelling. Some love performing, while others have extraordinary talent for imitation.
Our task is to discover their potential, build their confidence, and open another broad path for their future development.
4. Give Every Child a Work of Their Own
“Chinese Young Actors Class” has one feature that sets it apart from ordinary Chinese classes: the stories children learn can become works in which they themselves perform.
At the end of a semester, children take away more than a workbook. They leave with a collection of stories recording their growth. You may discover that your child is no longer timid or hesitant, but speaks with ease, carries themselves with confidence, and is full of energy.
They may preserve the sound of their first story told in Chinese, the first lines they memorized with care, the first short play completed with classmates, and the first time they bravely expressed themselves in front of a camera.
Years later, when children see these images again, they will be more than records of a Chinese class—they will be memories of their own growth.
Every month: one text, one story, one short play.
