Poet Yuanmou Li

Senior Editor · Author · Poet · Screenwriter · Writers Association Member

A graduate of Wuhan University, Yuanmou Li has worked extensively in journalism, publishing, education, and literary writing. He has served at organizations including Guangdong Science and Technology Newspaper, Guangdong Provincial Publishing Group, Guangdong Economic Publishing House, New Century Publishing House, Guangdong Education Publishing House, Times Media, and Time Weekly. His successive roles have included editor, editorial department director, deputy publisher, deputy editor-in-chief, and editor-in-chief.

He earned the senior professional title of Editor in 2005. Through years of dedicated work on the front lines of journalism and publishing, he continually advanced his expertise and became a highly capable senior professional skilled in planning and editorial review, with strong knowledge of markets and marketing.

He independently planned and undertook key national book-publishing projects under China’s Ninth and Tenth Five-Year Plans. The book The Economics of Competitiveness, which he helped plan and publish, received the 14th China Book Award and the inaugural China Government Award for Publishing. The Science, Technology and Society series, a key national publishing project under the Eleventh Five-Year Plan that he co-planned, received a nomination at the second China Outstanding Publication Awards in 2008. These national honors brought significant recognition to both him and the organizations he served.

With strong decision-making, organizational, and execution abilities, together with accomplished leadership skills, he was selected in 2010 as a second-tier candidate in the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department’s “Ten-Hundred-Thousand Project.” He participated in many major initiatives during his career. In the landmark national competition to develop textbooks for the new curriculum standards, he helped lead the development of all 12 compulsory and elective modules of the national senior-high-school Physics textbook series; every module passed national review on its first submission and went on to be widely used throughout China. At the same time, he was responsible for writing, revising, reviewing, promoting, and supporting teacher training for four major subjects—senior-high-school Physics, senior-high-school Information Technology, junior-high-school Physics, and junior-high-school Chemistry—as well as developing related supplementary books, courseware, and teachers’ guides. These projects achieved outstanding results.

His literary achievements are equally distinguished. Many of his works—including poetry, prose, and song lyrics—have been published or featured by China Press Publication Radio and Television News, Sichuan Literature, Chibi Literature, and documentaries produced by China Central Television. He is currently a member of the Guangdong Writers Association and the Guangzhou Writers Association, and serves as vice chairman of the Guangzhou Yuexiu District Writers Association.
